Alyson Greville will be giving a talk on Monday 10th May 2021 at 17:00 about her experience working at Helmut-Schmidt Schule, Bremen as a foreign language assistant (Fremdsprachenassistentin). She comes originally from Co. Meath, Ireland and has been living in Bremen, Germany since summer 2017 after spending her Erasmus+ semesters at Uni-Bremen.
Having studied German and Irish for her B.A International at Maynooth University, Alyson has worked as an English as a Foreign Language Teacher (EFL Teacher) and language assistant in multiple schools all over Bremen, and gained extensive professional experience and provided rich cultural awareness to her students of all ages. She is currently conducting research for her M.A in Applied Linguistics dissertation and will be graduating in September 2021.
In this webinar, Alyson will be introducing herself, speaking about her own language background, teaching identity and contribution to the Helmut-Schmidt Schule through her support and assistance in the classroom and work on projects with the students. She will also describe the foreign language assistant scheme as organised by the Kultusminister Konferenz and the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst.
